The new trailer for the film I've been working on with Laika Entertainment, The Boxtrolls, is now available! It is exclusively featured on iTunes and not only shows footage from the film, but a unique behind-the-scenes look at the process of making the movie. I hope you enjoy it and we'll see you in theaters September 2014!

Hello all! Zubko.com has been overhauled and is brand-new. I know, it looks almost exactly the same, but there are small improvements that will hopefully work to create a little better experience behind the scenes.
The only downside that I can see so far, is that all my previous blog posts now have today's date stamp. I could go back and manually change these, but unfortunately I'd be guessing at the dates. So I will leave them this way for now. The upside is that because it will be a million times easier for me to update this site, hopefully that means I will do it more often! It's my intention to post more about what I've been working on in my spare time for fun, as opposed to just published work. I am still with LAIKA on their feature The Boxtrolls, so free time is a little limited. But I have been working on various things and intent to share them here. That's it for now. Thanks for looking! Andrew OK, I’m sorry for the misleading headline, but there actually isn’t any information regarding any prints or merchandise featuring this image. I have received a ton, a TON of responses asking if there are prints or other merchandise available with this image, but since it includes trademarked property, this becomes a little more complicated. BUT, if you would like to be contacted with any information that becomes available regarding said prints or merchandise, please send me an email at [email protected]. You’ll be sure to be the first to know if and when prints become available! You’ll get this information (again, if and when available) as well as be the first to receive any new information regarding this and future images!
Or you could just bookmark my site. Either one, I don’t want to force anything on you. Oh, and you won’t get emails every day. Or even every other day. Not like those huge websites that send you the deals of the day, or suggests to buy certain products. Thanks again to EVERYONE who had kind words, expressed interest in prints, critiqued, and left non-sequitur comments regarding the Batman Vs. Shark image! Andrew Hello, and thank you for visiting zubko.com, the website of Illustrator and Artist Andrew Zubko. The site is undergoing heavy maintenance currently, but will be back bigger, stronger, faster, and… prettier in the very near future. Please check back to visit the all new ZUBKO.COM!
In the mean time, please click the links to the right to view work samples. And feel free to leave feedback. I apologize to anyone thinking of ordering prints, but I have decided to close my webstore. However, if you are still interested in obtaining a print of any of my work, please contact me directly at [email protected], as they are still available.
Have you been eying a fine art print of my Betty White With A Flaming Chainsaw Riding John Ritter in mystore, but not sure if you should take the plunge for an extra special holiday gift for your loved ones? Well, head on over to the Portland Mercury website where you can bid on that very print, where your money will be going to a good, charitable cause, benefiting The Raphael House (raphaelhouse.com), a Portland, OR based nonprofit that assists survivors of domestic violence and their families!! Who knows? You may be able to get one for much less than from my online store. The fine art Giclee print is on textured watercolor paper and is of archival quality. Sized at 9.75″ x 13.5″, it would look perfect hanging over your fireplace, adding the “epic” quality to your living room you’ve been searching for.
Check it out HERE! Act fast! The auction ends Saturday, December 11th at 12pm PST. Happy bidding! Sorry for such a short notice, but I have a piece of artwork on eBay, donated to raise money for the Even Chance pitbull rescue in San Diego, Cailfornia, and it’s only got about 2 hours until the end!!! Unfortunately, I was away on vacation when the auction went up and did not have a chance to put a post in a timely manner.
You can view the auction for my item here. Please check out all the other great items up for sale here! Thanks for checking out my, and all the other artists’ work! Andrew I’ve had a small amount readers contact me about this, so I’m thinking about offering the Betty White/Flaming Chainsaw/ John Ritter Centaur piece as a print, if there is enough interest. Unlike the Batman Vs Shark, there are no trademarked characters involved! I don’t think DC Comics owns Betty White yet, so I can actually offer merchandise with this image.
If you would be interested in a print, or something smaller like a postcard, let me know through the comments. I will post news here if and when they are available along with ordering information. Thank you everyone for your interest! I have been contacted by The Portland Mercury to illustrate a cover!
(From www.portlandmercury.com): The Mercury Is… Like Portland, the Mercury is decidedly independent. Our pages offer an insider’s point of view that the city trusts. Bright, sometimes bruising, and undeniably funny, we detail local music, arts, and news with passion and authority. The Mercury is all over Portland; from restaurants to coffee houses, bars to clubs, theaters to retailers, laptops to desktops, and on every campus and street corner–we’ve got the city covered. You can go here to get involved in the voting process! The cover should be out in the next week or two, available all over Portland, OR. You will also be able to see it here on zubko.com, for those of you in other parts of the world. This should be a very interesting, fun piece. Andrew I figured I’d take some attention away from the Batman/Shark piece for this post to shed some light on another piece that was featured in the io9.com gallery. This piece was done for the debut CD cover for a band I used to play guitar for in Philadelphia, Camp Dracula. Unfortunately, I moved to Portland, OR before I was able to officially record anything with them, so I am not on the CD. But I did help shape most of the songs on it. If you are interested in giving a listen, it is on . Click the link to check out the samples. If you want to download a track, I recommend one of my favorites, Stumpin’.
